TKN (The Knowledge Network) Ltd is the legal entity responsible for operating the TKN platform and providing the services described in these Terms & Conditions.
2. About TKN
TKN (The Knowledge Network) is a UK-based knowledge social network designed to connect teachers, professionals, experts, and knowledge creators with people who want to discover, access, learn from, and engage with useful knowledge.
Users may participate on TKN as learners, creators, or both.
3. The TKN Platform
TKN provides a social-media-style environment where users can discover and access knowledge through videos, courses, lessons, PDFs, professional training, exam preparation, language learning, career development, specialized knowledge, practical experience, and other useful educational or knowledge-based content.
TKN is designed around the idea that knowledge can be shared, transformed, improved, and monetized. A user may learn from other creators and subsequently create and publish their own knowledge content for others.
4. The TKN Creator Guide – Five Pillars
TKN encourages every creator to follow five core principles when creating and publishing content on the platform.
Learn: Creators should first understand the knowledge, concept, experience, or source they are learning from. Creators should not simply copy another person's work.
Reward: When another creator, teacher, expert, or source provides knowledge that is genuinely useful, users are encouraged to support or reward that source where appropriate through payment, tipping, subscription, purchase, or other legitimate means.
Transform: Creators must create content using their own understanding, words, approach, structure, experience, and perspective. Copying, reproducing, or creating a line-by-line paraphrase of another person's work is not permitted.
Add Value: Creators should add meaningful value through examples, simplification, personal experience, visuals, practical applications, case studies, new insights, explanations, or different perspectives. If nothing meaningful has been improved or added, the content should not be published as original content.
Publish & Earn: After genuinely understanding, transforming, and adding value to knowledge, creators may publish their content and earn when other users choose to access it.
TKN's overall knowledge cycle is therefore: Create → Learn → Transform → Add Value → Publish → Earn → Learn Again.
5. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property
Creators remain responsible for the content they upload or publish on TKN and must have all necessary rights, permissions, licenses, or authorizations required to use and publish that content.
Creators must not upload or publish content that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
TKN encourages genuine inspiration, learning, transformation, and the development of original knowledge. Inspiration from another source does not give a user permission to copy or reproduce that source's work.
6. Creator Pricing and Access Periods
Where the relevant functionality is available, creators may determine the price and access period for their content.
Access may be offered for different periods, including temporary or rental-style access such as 24 hours, daily, monthly, yearly, or other periods supported by TKN.
The availability of particular pricing, rental, subscription, or access features may depend on the platform functionality available at the relevant time.
7. Creator Earnings and TKN Commission
TKN currently applies a 25% platform commission to applicable creator transactions.
Subject to payment-provider fees, refunds, chargebacks, taxes, compliance requirements, and other applicable deductions, the remaining 75% is attributable to the creator.
The exact amount received by a creator may therefore differ from the gross amount paid by a user.
8. Payments, Settlements and Payouts
TKN uses third-party payment and financial service providers to process customer payments, settlements, payment splits, refunds, and creator payouts.
TKN does not intend to operate as a bank, financial institution, regulated payment institution, or regulated stored-value wallet, and TKN does not intend to hold customer or creator funds as regulated deposits or stored value.
Payment processing and payout availability depend on the payment provider, the creator's country, the selected payment method, applicable regulations, and the creator's eligibility.
TKN may conduct internal checks before approving or releasing payout instructions. TKN's internal payout review may take up to three working days, subject to the applicable payment provider's procedures.
9. KYC, Identity and Compliance
Depending on the payment provider, country, transaction type, and applicable laws, creators may be required to complete identity, business, tax, banking, or other compliance verification.
Such verification may be performed by TKN, a third-party payment provider, or both.
A creator may be unable to receive payments or payouts until the required verification has been successfully completed.
TKN may restrict, suspend, or prevent transactions where required for compliance, fraud prevention, risk management, payment-provider requirements, or applicable law.
10. Refunds, Chargebacks and Disputes
Payments, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, reversals, and transaction adjustments may be subject to the rules and procedures of the applicable payment provider.
Where a transaction is refunded, reversed, charged back, determined to be fraudulent, or otherwise invalidated, amounts previously attributed to a creator may be adjusted, withheld, or deducted where permitted.
TKN may investigate transactions and take reasonable action to protect users, creators, payment providers, and the platform.
11. Prohibited Content and Activities
TKN does not permit content or activities involving adult or sexual content, gambling, fraud, deception, illegal activities, copyright infringement, harmful or exploitative activities, or other content that violates applicable law or TKN's platform rules.
TKN may remove or restrict content that it reasonably believes violates these Terms or creates legal, safety, payment, reputational, or compliance risks.
12. Three-Strike Policy
TKN may operate a three-strike system for violations of its content and platform rules.
Repeated violations may result in permanent removal of an account and/or its content.
Serious violations, including serious illegal activity, fraud, exploitation, or significant intellectual-property violations, may result in immediate suspension or termination without requiring three prior strikes.
13. Account Suspension and Termination
TKN may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account where a user violates these Terms, applicable law, platform rules, payment-provider requirements, or engages in fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or otherwise prohibited activity.
TKN may also restrict access to specific content or platform functionality where necessary to protect the platform, users, creators, or third-party service providers.
14. Account Deletion
Users may request deletion of their TKN account subject to the functionality available on the platform.
Account deletion is intended to be permanent. Certain information may nevertheless be retained where required by law, financial, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, security, or other legitimate legal obligations.
15. User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts and for all activities conducted through their accounts.
Users must provide accurate information where required and must not use TKN for fraud, abuse, manipulation, unauthorized access, unlawful activity, or activities intended to harm other users, creators, payment providers, or TKN.
Users are also responsible for complying with applicable laws and regulations in their own jurisdictions.
16. No Guarantee of Results
TKN does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, quality, popularity, visibility, reach, views, sales, earnings, or usefulness of any particular piece of content.
TKN does not guarantee that a user will pass an examination, obtain a qualification, secure employment, increase income, acquire a particular skill, achieve a particular result, or obtain any other specific outcome from using the platform or accessing content.
Creators are responsible for the claims, representations, qualifications, and information contained in their own content.
17. TKN's Role
TKN provides the technology and platform infrastructure that may allow users to publish, discover, access, interact with, and monetize knowledge and content.
TKN may provide hosting, distribution, discovery, social interaction, payment integration, marketing, and creator-monetization functionality.
TKN is not generally the creator or author of user-generated content and does not automatically endorse the opinions, qualifications, claims, or information expressed by individual creators.
18. Messaging and Communication
TKN may provide messaging and communication features between users.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, TKN messaging should not be considered end-to-end encrypted, and users should avoid sending highly sensitive or confidential information through the platform.
19. Video, PDF and Digital Content Access
Videos on TKN may be provided through streaming functionality and are not intended to be freely downloadable unless TKN explicitly provides such functionality.
PDFs and other resources may be viewable or downloadable depending on the creator's settings and the functionality provided by TKN.
Access to paid content is subject to the access period, payment status, platform rules, and applicable technical limitations.
20. Advertising and Sponsorship
TKN may provide advertising or sponsorship opportunities around platform content.
Advertising may appear before or after content or in other locations supported by the platform.
Under TKN's current sponsorship model, creators may retain 100% of sponsorship funding associated with applicable advertising placements, subject to the relevant advertising arrangement and applicable terms.
TKN may also introduce premium or ad-free features.
21. Third-Party Services
TKN may rely on third-party providers for payment processing, identity verification, banking and payout services, hosting, cloud infrastructure, analytics, communications, security, and other technical or operational services.
The availability and functionality of these services may depend on the relevant third-party provider.
Users and creators may also be subject to the terms, policies, and requirements of those third-party providers.
22. Privacy and Data Protection
TKN processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection laws.
Users should review the TKN Privacy Policy to understand how personal information may be collected, used, stored, shared, and protected.
23. Changes to TKN and These Terms
TKN may modify, improve, add, remove, or change platform features, services, payment methods, pricing, policies, content rules, technical functionality, and other aspects of the platform.
TKN may also update these Terms from time to time.
Where appropriate, users may be notified of material changes through the platform or other reasonable communication methods.
24. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TKN shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other losses arising from the use of the platform, user-generated content, third-party services, payment-provider failures, loss of earnings, loss of data, or inability to access the platform.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
25. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable to TKN (The Knowledge Network) Ltd's registered jurisdiction in the United Kingdom, subject to applicable mandatory laws and any final legal advice obtained by TKN.
Any disputes shall be handled by the courts or dispute-resolution mechanisms having appropriate jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
26. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, accessing TKN, publishing content, purchasing or accessing content, or otherwise using the platform, the user acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
If a user does not agree with these Terms, they should not use the TKN platform.
